Does Teeth Whitening Work?

This is a common question that we are often asked. The surface of the teeth contain millions of microscopic pores and, over time, the things we eat and drink and even the medicines we take can settle into these pores and cause discoloration of the enamel.

Almost all natural teeth respond to our process. However, there are some individuals’ teeth that will require more treatment than others to whiten.

How Does The Process Actually Work?

The main ingredient in all teeth whitening products is peroxide. The urea peroxide is found in most expensive toothpastes such as Jannina-Diamond. Carbomide peroxide is found in over-the-counter, home systems and should not be confused with hydrogen peroxide which is used in our treatments. This hydrogen peroxide turns into water and oxygen, which penetrates the enamel and almost all types of stain are lifted out. In short the gel we use is activated by the moisture (saliva) in your mouth and the laser is used to speed the whitening process.
